I made this pendant around a really beautiful piece of deep purple raw amethyst from Tanzania. The color is a rich, dark purple and I left the back open so light can pass through and bring it to life.
The whole piece started as a hand-sculpted base in polymer clay, including the vines and the two moons above the stone. After that, I electroformed it in copper, letting the metal grow over the form and lock everything together. The copper has been oxidized to bring out the texture, especially in the vines, so it feels like a treasure you might have found in an ancient place.
Above the crystal are the runes Ansuz, Laguz, Eihwaz, and Jera. I chose them because they seem to have a relationship with each other:
-
Ansuz is breath, voice, and insight—the spark of awareness.
-
Laguz is water, intuition, and flow.
-
Eihwaz is the axis, the bridge between worlds, endurance and transformation.
-
Jera is cycles, harvest, and the slow unfolding of what you’ve planted.
Together, they feel like a path: listening and trusting your inner compass, moving through change, and letting things come to fruition in their own time.
The amethyst sits right in the middle of that, a calm center. It’s traditionally connected to clarity, protection, and spiritual awareness—more about quieting the noise than amplifying it. The open back really lets it glow in its own way.
The moons above the vines speak to cycles and rhythm—waxing and waning, growth and rest—while the vines themselves feel grounded and alive, like everything is still growing, still reaching.
And then there’s the copper, which ties it all together. It’s conductive, grounding, and warm—something that carries energy rather than blocking it. It feels like the bridge between the physical and the subtle, holding all these elements in one place.
This piece is entirely handmade and one-of-a-kind.
