The Morrigan, the “phantom queen” of Irish mythology, is a war goddess who often transforms herself into a crow or raven, flying above warriors and inciting them to do heroic deeds and fight fearlessly. She can also foretell the outcome of battles and identify those who will perish. It has been said that she washes the clothes of those who will soon die in battle.
This handsome pewter pendant is shaped like a tiny plaque, with a decorative border and an arched top. It depicts the Morrigan with a spear to denote her association with warfare, and above her upraised arm a raven flies, symbolizing her shape-shifting powers.
The steely gray pewter is enhanced with an antique effect to give the pendant a timeless age-old look.
