* Even though this is an adjustable ring, please be aware that sterling silver is not a material that can be bent very many times before it breaks. To avoid damage to your ring, adjust it to your finger just once so that it can be slipped on and off without bending it, like a fixed size ring. And do not lend it out to anyone else with a different finger size as this will result in even more bending.
It's hard to believe that something so geometrically perfect as a spiral could exist in nature, but it does, for example in the nautilus and other shells. And astronomers have know since at least 1936 that many galaxies, including our own Milky Way, are spiral-shaped.
Ancient artifacts show that there's something about the spiral that is innate in humans. A decorative object found in Ukraine that dates back to 10,000 bc contains a spiral-like form. And the Newgrange prehistoric monument in Ireland, which was built somewhere around 3200 bc contains rock with spirals carved into it.
Today the spiral is often interpreted as a double-edged symbol, both of an individual's journey from a world of materialism and misconceptions to a realization of inner truth and conversely from the egoistic inner-self outward to a universal consciousness.
