The face of the ring focuses on a stout trunk and the lower branches of its crown overhead, with a simple line suggesting a horizon in the background. The tree extends to either side where it ends and a honeycomb pattern of tiny hexagons begins, providing the back side with a geometric texture that contrasts with the naturalistic lines of the tree in front.
The tree and honeycomb are done in raised relief and are accentuated by an oxidized finish.
