The complexity of the Tetragrammaton symbol, with all its letters, numbers and symbols, gives this pendant great texture - which is accentuated by its being cut-out. The pentagram that holds it all together has been darkened slightly with oxidation, highlighting the shiny polished silver surfaces surrounding it.
The original tetragrammaton symbol was relatively simple, consisting of just two parts: Yahweh, the name for the four-letter Hebrew word for God, and the pentagram. And then, through the years, the tetragrammaton was adopted by numerous religions and cultures and has been added to and embellished according to each group's beliefs. As you can see in this pendant, the symbol can be quite complex.
