This ring was inspired by a total solar eclipse, when only the sun's outer corona is seen behind the moon's blackened disc.

Its design is like a symbol: Simplified as a circle with the center cut out and encircled by spike-like rays of alternating lengths and equally spaced, radiating from its center.
