The intricate textures of the many symbols, words and numbers that make up the Tetragrammaton symbol are brought to life in this pendant. Not only are they physically raised above their recessed background, they also stand out visually with their polished silver surfaces shining against their darkened oxidized matte background.
The reverse side of the pendant is also decorated, with an inscribed and oxidized pentagram within an overall hammered texture.
The Tetragrammaton was designed to embody the totality of both the Divine and the Human. The original symbol was relatively simple, consisting of just two parts: Yahweh, the name for the four-letter Hebrew word for God, and the pentagram. Then, through the years, the tetragrammaton was adopted by numerous religions and cultures who added to and embellished it according to each group's beliefs. As you can see in this pendant, the symbol can be quite complex.
