A small rustic wreath of bundled dried vines is hung with a primitive pentagram that is made of long slender twigs. The twigs are hardly trimmed, so that they extend well beyond the five points of the pentagram. At the center hangs a small piece of raw amethyst, and from the bottom of the wreath hangs a point of raw quartz crystal, The wreath's is 'bail' is made of 'antique brass' crafting wire, which is also entwined around the wreath like vines. The crystals are hung with simple black string.
Amethyst is known for promoting calmness, clarity and spiritual growth. Quartz is known as the Master Healer due to its ability to amplify energy and intentions and promote healing. In folklore, the pentagram was believed to ward off evil. European witches carved pentagrams into doorways to protect homes, while others inscribed it on amulets for personal safety.
This wreath does not sit very flat against the wall because some of the twigs curve backwards. A longer nail might be need to hang it.
Every time we make a new one of these hangings, it's slightly different than the one we made before it.
