This miniature tableau of a looping snake - raising its head and showing its fangs to the night sky - is nicely detailed and full of textures.

The snake's body is scaly and quite sculptural in general, raised in relief against a recessed background that has an overall pebbled finish. The background is also darkened with oxidation to highlight the crescent moon, stars, and planets, which are also in relief.

This pendant is oval in shape with a vertical orientation, and its reverse side is plain with a smoothly polished finish.
