These mixed media necklaces feature a short strand of mixed semi-precious gemstones with a large gemstone or handmade pure silver charm at the center.
The beads for each strand have been carefully chosen to create a balanced composition of color and proportion, giving each one a look that walks the line between chaos and control, for a slightly wild, bohemian look.
Each gemstone strand is finished with sterling silver wire guardians and crimp beads. However, to keep them affordable, I am offering both sterling silver and stainless steel chain options.
Handmade motif charms: A few of the bracelets have motif charms. These are handmade out of metal clay silver, producing a charm that is 99.9% pure silver. The other silver beads are pre-finished sterling silver components.
The gemstone beads are individually faceted, highlighting their internal beauty. Some are irregularly shaped, others are shaped into briolettes, drops, cubes, or spheres.
About the beads: Such gemstone beads are normally very expensive, but I am sometimes able to get a good deal on them because what happens at the gem fairs is that sellers must transport these strands of beads frequently and sometimes the strands break. They don't have the time to put them back together, so they sell these to me at a discount and I am able create these necklaces for less than I normally would be able to.
I can't name all the beads on every strand, but if you look closely, you will find there are stones like rutilated quartz, labradorite, peridot, citrine, spinel, moss agate, smoky quartz, aquamarine, garnet, tanzanite, and even watermelon tourmaline.
