Description

Beautiful natural birthstones are bezel-set in 925 sterling silver bands with fixed bail. The gems all measure 6 mm in diameter - approximately 1/4 inch - and all are faceted. Choose from 12 traditional birthstone charms.

The concept of birthstones originates from the Book of Exodus in the Bible. It describes the Breastplate of Aaron, a ceremonial garment adorned with 12 gemstones representing the 12 tribes of Israel. In the first century AD, Jewish historian Titus Flavius Josephus and later Christian scholars connected these 12 stones to the 12 months of the year and the zodiac signs.
