On August 6, 1945, an Allied plane dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, killing and estimated 150,000 people and leveling the landscape.
Amazingly, a number of ginkgo trees survived the blast and are still growing in Hiroshima to this day and have become symbols of endurance and vitality.
Even before surviving the nuclear blast, ginkgo trees have been symbols of longevity because of their incredibly long lives - some are reportedly more than 3,000 years old.
These earrings are detailed with the fine veins and curled edges that mimic the delicate shape and texture of real ginkgo leaves.
