Textured with scales and spikes on the top of its head, this sinuous dragon seems ready to strike, with its large, powerful claws and snarling jaws. One of the claw is clenched into a "fist", creating a sense of latent energy. The dragon's tail finishes in an arrowhead shape, which is a nice variation to the usual dragon tail that usually ends in a fine point.
Dragons have different meanings in the East and the West. In the West, they are often depicted as monsters to be vanquished, and in the East, they are lucky and considered to be good omens.
Western dragons appear in myths and fairytales, often protecting a great treasure or holding hostage a maiden, waiting to be slain by a great hero as a way to prove his worth.
In the East, the dragon symbolizes good things, like strength, wisdom, good luck, and power over the forces of wind and water.
We wanted to give our customers a way of personalizing their pendants, but many of the pieces in our store are textured on the backside, have an uneven surface, or a design on all sides, making it impossible to engrave them.
Our solution to this problem was to offer engravable charms that you can add onto any necklace. They are small, about 1/2" wide (12 mm) and come with free engraving on the front side (backside engraving is available for an additional charge).
We currently only have these in two shapes (a heart or circle), but will be adding more as time goes on. The charms are also engraved in-house and custom fit with findings to match your pendant.
You can choose engravable charm options right on the product page of any pendant. Below are a few photographs of charms we've made for customers in the past, along with their pendants.
