Ganesha is one of the most popular gods in Hinduism and, with his elephant's head, probably the most recognizable. He's worshiped as the god of wisdom, success and good fortune.
By Hindu tradition he is also known as the Vighneshvara, which in Sanskrit means he is the lord of obstacles. He is the god to pray to if you need help in overcoming difficulties.
This is a very nice miniature of Ganesha with his elephant's head and big belly, and holding a parasol in one hand and what looks like a teapot in the other. It is three-dimensional like a small statue and is nicely detailed on all sides, even the top of his parasol. And the matching decorative base with its flat bottom makes the Ganesha figure free-standing when he's not being worn.
