Amazing, but wishbones have been a symbol of good luck since ancient times. The Etruscans believed that birds were oracles, so they would preserve a bird's 'furcula' – or wishbone – by drying it in the sun, and afterwards stroking it while making a wish for good luck in the future.
The tradition spread to the Romans, who brought it to Britain, whose Pilgrims eventually brought it to America. And here we are.
Also, did you know that the term “lucky break” comes from the tradition of two people breaking a wishbone to see who gets the bigger half and their secret wish to come true?
This is a fun-to-wear miniature wishbone made of sterling silver that can also be used as a good luck charm, just like a real one. It's proportioned and shaped just like a real wishbone but is much more attractive and already comes with a chain so it can be worn as a necklace.
