According to Greek myth, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, always sat with an owl on her blind side, so that she could see the whole truth. Maybe that's because owls are nocturnal and can see perfectly in the dark, which characterizes the other half of our earthly day. This owl then is given an appropriate setting with a crescent moon.
Almost a talisman or amulet, this is an impressive necklace with a mystical feel that celebrates the ancient Celts' worship of nature. As do Wiccans, the Celts deeply respected the forces of nature and the movements of the celestial bodies. The crescent moon has a vine-like infill of Celtic knots which weave outward from a small pentacle whose five-pointed star is done in a similar Celtic knot style.
