The triple moon is a symbol of Wiccan and Pagan traditions and can be found on crowns or head pieces worn by priestesses.
It is a goddess symbol that represents the Maiden, Mother and Crone as the waxing, full and waning moons. It is also a symbol of the spiritual aspects of femininity, such as intuition, psychic abilities, creativity and wisdom.
The centerpiece of this slightly cultish-looking necklace is a cut-out pentacle, or a pentagram within a circle. Historically, the pentagram is a five-pointed star that can be drawn without lifting pen off paper. It has no beginning or end, and for that reason has become a symbol of eternity.
The circle that surrounds the pentagram is also a symbol of eternity for the same reason, and it is also a traditional symbol of both Earth and the cyclic nature of life.
To each side of the pentacle is a crescent moon, each being a part of a whole moon - another circle. On the left side, the moon is waxing, when its lighted part is growing larger. It tells us that it's time to become more active in managing our lives and fulfilling our dreams. On the right side the moon is waning, when the lighted part gets smaller. This phase is a time of personal reflection and introspection.
And as an interesting side note, the crescent shape is also the alchemical symbol for silver, the material the necklace is made of.
Rounded surface and subtle antique accents help give the pendant visual depth.
