As a wiser person than myself once said, “What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?”
That's what these earrings are all about: Peace, very small and discreet. They're not about Satan, Nazis, the Occult or anything of the sort.
The original peace sign was designed by British artist Gerald Holtom in 1958 for the occasion of the first protest march by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). According to Holtom, his design superimposed the semaphore letters “N” and “D” over each other (semaphores being the famous flag-signaling system).
And even though it may look a little retro because of its strong association with the 60's, it's still a potent and universally recognized symbol that retains its original plea for peace.
