The phrase "so mote it be" is used by many Wiccans and Pagans to wrap up the end of a spell, ritual, or work of magic, and is their way way of saying "Amen" or "so it shall be". The phrase may have its roots in Freemasonry, as Gerald Gardner, the founder of modern Wicca, was believed to have Masonic connections and claimed to be a Master Mason himself.

The message on this brightly polished pentacle is the same on both sides. "This is my will, so mote it be" is written in Theban, the witches' alphabet, on the front, and in English on the back.
