A long wooden twig hangs from each of the five points of a black metal pentagram that is suspended horizontally. The tops of the twigs are stripped bare and are decorated at their bottoms with wound wire. A round drum-shaped piece of driftwood that hangs on a metal chain among the twigs is the 'clapper' that bangs against the twigs to give the windchime its clicking sound. A strip of bark catches the wind and sets the clapper in motion.
When hanging this windchime outdoors, find a spot that won't be exposed directly to the elements, such as under an eave.
Every time we make a new one of these bells, it's slightly different than the one we made before it. So if a photo is noted as 'the Current Version', it is the one you will receive. The other photos in the listing are still accurate in a general way, and we'll be happy to answer any questions you have.
About our bells and windchimes: They're all handmade in our studio in Garden Grove, California, created from a variety of natural materials and readymade celestial charms and talismans associated with protection, luck, and spiritual benefits. We blend these elements together in a way that is organic and entirely human. We hope you enjoy them and all their imperfections, which we think gives them a casual and rustic character.
We make these bells and windchimes without a specific use in mind; they're made to be used as you see fit - hung on doors or next to windows for protection, to clear negative energies around your altar, or as a useful tool in your witchcraft.
