This literal 'skeleton' key is topped with a dramatically detailed skull with dark cavernous eye sockets and a grimacing smile full of teeth. The key's shaft is knobbed like a spinal cord, and the bail is even decorated along the same lines with an 'X marks the spot'.

The oxidation darkens the details and certain features, especially the eye sockets, giving the pendant a striking, aged character.
