Long sinuous organic lines, almost like vines, give this elegant sterling silver pendant an art nouveau look and perfectly complement the teardrop-shaped Baltic amber stone that is its centerpiece. In keeping with the pendant's graceful quality, the amber is smooth, rather than faceted, and it's a fairly thick stone so that its color is rich and deep.
Most of the world's amber comes from the Baltic region in northern Europe, especially Kaliningrad, Russia. Baltic amber is estimated to be 44 million years old and comes to us, through a geological process, from mostly coniferous ancient forests.
