The centerpiece of this cute toe or midi ring is a traditional yin yang symbol raised in relief on a small disc, and oxidized for effect and readability.
According to Eastern thought, there is a cosmic balance between the two opposite but complementary forces that exist in all aspects of life. Generally, Yin represents earth, femaleness, darkness, and passivity, while Yang symbolizes heaven, maleness, light and activity. The Yin Yang symbol depicts the increase of one with the simultaneous decrease of the other, and includes the origin or seed of each in the other (as represented by the small circle).
* Even though this is an adjustable ring, please be aware that sterling silver is not a material that can be bent very many times before it breaks.
