An infill of iridescent lab opal* gives this feather pendant a special magical quality and is visually very complementary to the smoothly polished sterling silver that holds it.
The center shaft runs the length of the feather, as it does in nature, but here continues beyond to gracefully curve under itself to touch the underside of the pendant, creating a unique and natural-looking bail.
*Synthetic opals are man-made opals that have the same chemical composition, internal structure, physical properties, and appearance as natural opals. Many synthetic opals look so much like natural opal that trained gemologists can have difficulty separating them from natural opals.
