This handsome pendant really has a bold character.
An oxidizing technique gives the recessed and textured background a dark color that contrasts dramatically with the raised and polished triskelion symbol. And the symbol itself is given an elaborate flourish: Each of its three 'tails' bloom into a smaller triquetra knot with a scroll-like embellishment. These three smaller Celtic knots fill up the triangular voids between the triskelion symbol and the circular border in a decorative way.
The pendant itself is a slightly larger size and has a satisfying dome shape that gives it depth and dimension. The bowl-shaped opposite side of the pendant is also oxidized to match the front.
The triskelion, or triskele, is an ancient symbol dating as far back as the Stone Age, making it older than Stonehenge or the Great Pyramids of Giza.
It's made up of three spiral arms, arranged so that it seems to be always in a state of motion. As a symbol, the triskelion represents progress, cycles, and advancement, and suggests that we should always be growing and trying to improve ourselves.
