This chunky pendant features a stout translucent quartz point topped with a shiny copper cap and integral bail. Crescent-shaped amethyst druzy is embedded in the front, in the copper cap just below the integral bail.
Stones, being a natural material, vary in clarity, so I have been careful to choose the prettiest side for the front.
Druzy is the name for a layer of tiny, sparkling crystals that form naturally on the surface of a rock or mineral under certain pressures and temperatures. It is cut into the crescent shape by hand.
About Copper: Please note that copper naturally darkens over time (we will include cleaning instructions if you like that bright penny look). Also, when worn directly against skin, copper can react with your sweat to form a green layer of copper carbonate. This chemical reaction is not harmful, but if it bothers you, we recommend only wearing the pendant on top of clothing.
About Quartz: Pure quartz, also called rock crystal or clear quartz, is free of the impurities that give color to many other varieties such as amethyst, citrine and rose quartz.
Pure quartz is often referred to as the Master Healer because it is believed to be especially good for all-around healing: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Many use it to attain mental clarity and it's often used in spells because it amplifies your intentions. Points of pure quartz crystal are also very good for altars and sacred spaces because they help to clear and purify the energy of the place they are in.
About Amethyst: Amethyst is a semiprecious gemstone that comes in varying shades of violet, from lavender to vibrant dark purple.
The word Amethyst comes from the Greek word améthystos, meaning "not intoxicated". Ancient Greeks thought it was useful against overindulgence and both wore it as jewelry and carved drinking vessels from it. It is thought to be a stone of tranquility, calmness, and peace, and is considered to be one of the most powerful and protective stones.
